About Me
Hi! I am Irene Mak. I was born in Hong Kong and I live in the Greater Vancouver area in Canada. I love coding. While I worked as an office clerk in the head office of a grocery retails chain, I started doing some simply Excel Marco by researching on the internet and partially automated most of the reports and purchase order. As a result, the time need to spend on those works were reduce by about 30%. At that time, I was about halfway through my accounting diploma, I’ve decided to shift to the computer field and enrolled myself to a computer system certificate program. I would love to use my newly acquire skills to help improve work efficiency by automate work and manipulate data. I enjoy brainstorming and collaborating with my colleagues. I also can work independently to complete my tasks on time, and that very much fits with the way I do my best work. My biggest accomplishments are getting my Applied Software Development Associate Certificate with Distinction GPA 81, getting RCM Grade 2 Rudiments – First Class Honors with Distinction, and Grade 6 Violin and Grade 5 Piano as an Adult. And Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate Level 2. When I am not busy working, reading, or studying, you can find me working on fun mobile application or game projects. My education have provided me with a variety of information system knowledge and practical skills, including SQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript on webpage development. I have also learned many skills in programming languages, such as C#, Java, and C/C++.
